You Are An Ocean

you are like the ocean
fierce and frothy, 
yet calm and serene, deep within

you're like the ocean
your tides pound my heart,
but you send the waves rolling,
to soothe me too

you're like the ocean,
vast and endless,
the more i'm lost in you,
the more little i know,
the more i get close,
the farther you seem

you are the ocean,
of warmth,
sunshine,
and dreams, 
you draw me to you,
smear the salt dust
all over me,
you never come back
with me,
yet your eyes,
never fail to give away
the longing and the hope
to have me back
again!
