Your Silence Is a Volcano

my feelings,
for you,
are like the gloomy night sky
dark, and lost:
if you're not looking at me,
i am awake and yet a vacuum,
like the sky studded with stars, galore,
if you gaze keenly into me,
you let my lips curl up into a smile
like the stars that twinkle,
and rekindle hope

my love
is like the universe,
that you can't see,
and still is always about you,
you don't realize
and are ever-expanding,
an art of god,
and yet, an act of serendipity,
unseen, or unfelt,
yet keeps coming back in
different avatars,
that grows, endlessly,
and rekindles hope

your love,
is like the waves,
that calmly
wash my shores,
and still, go back,
every time,
only to return again,
every single time,
stronger,
to reach farther, and deeper,
into my shores,
only to wash away the ground
below me,
draw me deeper in you,
and carry me back with you, endlessly
and rekindle hope

your silence
is a volcano,
that keeps watch over me,
still as a rock,
calm outside,
and yet brewing the lava,
within,
enduring the chilly breeze,
the scorching sun,
and the mighty storms,
but melting a tiny bit, up within,
unseen to anyone,
until that moment,
when you'd finally erupt,
spew the lava of love
into the skies,
with unmatched passion,
and let go of the silence,
with pangs of missing,
with warmth to make up for ages,
and wrap me in your hugs, endlessly
and rekindle hope
eternally again!
