Different Worlds

it sounded like gusts of wind,
it felt like the sound of the waves,
my limbs shook with the chill,
you had goosebumps, too,
and our hearts leaped with joy,
but in different worlds!

the waves crashed on
the shores,
they wiped them clean,
of the stories etched there,
and erased
many an unborn dream,
their hearts bled again,
but in different worlds!

the shores stood weak,
broken and dreamless,
but every time the tide comes racing,
even the beach knows she'd have to leave,
she inspires hope and love,
my heart leaps with joy again,
your eyes light up too,
the tide rekindles a dream again,
there and here,
but in different ways!

  1. So poignant.. like these times. What the sea erases cannot be rebuilt, exactly, but the shore always tries to come back to its original shape.. lovely. Love the bits about unborn and rekindled dreams
