Spring Has Arrived

the lips curled up
into a smile,
the dimples forcing
through the creases
on her face,
the joy
unable to hide the tears
that squeezed
through the corner
of the eyes.

as the eyes met
and the hearts melted,
a waft of breeze swept
between them,
there was an excitement,
punctuated by disbelief,
she pinched herself,
to be sure it's not a dream.
so what,
if neither uttered a word,
they still spoke
for long,
with unworded looks,
unhindered joy,
and unfathomed thoughts -
that only hearts can feel!

spring has come, finally,
after a long winter!
