Another Year

the last few lines,
wait to be penned
on the last page,
and, another diary
would join the racks
of history.

another year
of joys and smiles,
of tears and partings,
of cravings,
and adieus,
of meetings
and anxiety,
of pains and heal,
and scars that didn't,
of hugs and hope,
of friends to lean on,
and many that weren't -
will merge
with the canvas
of memories.

another prayer
is whispered,
a fresh resolution
made,
a glimmer of hope
rekindled,
a new dream
weaved,
another wish
lipped,
upon the star.

another lonely star
blinked,
a bead of warmth
trickled,
I shook in nod.
I know,
mine's smiling!
