You Were Right

You were right.
Even if you knew, I was.
Because your smile is too dear,
For me to live without.

Your words did hurt,
Left my world shattered,
They pierced through the layers,
And left my heart crumbled,
To a million pieces,
It felt as if life was all but done,
But you were right,
For your happiness is precious
To trade for,
Even for a moment!

You didn't turn around
To see how I felt,
As the petals fell to the ground,
Behind you,
Gravity-defying,
As though even they didn't want to,
But you were right,
It doesn't matter how I felt.
I chose to be wrong,
So you are right,
For, your smile is priceless -
To part with,
No matter what!
